Amanda Howard-Phillips joined the Spokane Symphony in 2003, and was awarded the position of principal second violin in 2008.
Amanda performs with the Oregon Coast Music Festival in the summer, and recently joined the Spokane String Quartet as second violin.

Rachel Dorfman, violin teacher, performed with the Spokane Symphony for 11 seasons before leaving the orchestra to become a full-time work from home mom. Nick Carper, viola and violin teacher, performs with the Spokane Symphony as their Principal Viola, a position he's held since 2001
Cathy Brown Cello Studio
Cathy has studied and performed much of the standard cello repertoire with noted Spokane pianists Steve Radcliffe, Ivana Cojbasic, and Greg Presley. She is a member of the Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra, the Alegria String Quartet, pianist/organist at Northwood Presbyterian Church, and a well-respected cello teacher, piano accompanist, and chamber music coach in Spokane. She has had a number of students and cello quartets earn superior ratings in the the EWMEA Solo/Ensemble Contest, and has had several go on to compete in the State Solo/Ensemble contest.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Jason Moody helps students of all ages and abilities reach their musical goals. Jason has coached the Spokane, Bellevue, and Seattle Youth Symphonies, and worked with school music programs across the state. He is a violin instructor at Whitworth University and Edmonds Community College, and is a Pre-Doctoral Teaching Associate at the University of Washington where he is a doctoral candidate (DMA). Jason's violin and viola students have played in the Spokane, Bellevue, Seattle, and Houston Youth Symphonies and have continued their musical studies on scholarship at the college level.
A traditional violin student in her training, she has embraced the philosophy of Dr. Schinichi Suzuki which is founded on the belief that a child will always remember playing if they begin studies at age 2 or 3. Focusing on music at a young age helps develop parts of the brain that would otherwise not be used. The teacher/parent/student relationship develops a bond that helps nourish the child's love for music, enhancing their lives.

A private violin teacher and performer located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Studied with Peter Isaacson using the Ivan Galamian principles of violin technique. Studying with Misha Rosenker during my graduate studies. I played with the Coeur d'Alene Symphony.
Currently bassist with the Spokane Symphony. Other orchestral experience includes: principal bassist with the Billings Symphony Orchestra, the Manhattan Chamber Sinfonia, and the National Orchestral Institute; asst. principal bassist with the Montana Summer Symphony, the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, and the Heidelburg-Schlossfestspiele Opera. Other orchestras include: the Virginia Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Cecilia Orchestra, and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra.
A seasoned artist, cellist Kevin Hekmatpanah has presented hundreds of solo and chamber performances throughout the country.
He is currently a member of the Spokane Symphony Orchestra. He has previously served on the faculty of MTSU and has taught cello at the Governors School for the Arts. He has served on competition juries, and he has presented master classes and clinics throughout the country.

Margaret studied music at the Eastman School of Music while pursuing a bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Rochester. She has been published in peer reviewed journals and was a Fulbright recipient.
